Rehab Group welcomes the decision made this afternoon by SIPTU to defer planned industrial action on the issue of pay restoration for Section 39 organisations, in order to allow a process of assessment of funding cuts to be undertaken and completed in six weeks.
The organisation, which provides vital supports to over 10,000 people with disabilities throughout the country, has described it as a ‘positive step towards resolution’.
Mo Flynn, Rehab Group CEO said: “We very much welcome this process and look forward to fully engaging with it. I hope it will yield the result we all want which is equality and justice for workers in Section 39 organisations who have shouldered the burden of cuts for too long.
“We will continue to work hard to secure equal and adequate funding to restore pay, and ensure the highest quality services for the thousands of people who depend on them.”
